About your Hosts - Diana & Eckhard

Diana - Since the age of six, Diana has had a great love of horses and nature. She spent much of her youth working on different farms and ranches in her native Germany to pursue her passion for horseback riding. After years of taking lessons in the English style of riding, she was introduced to the Western style of riding when she met her husband-to-be. Diana applies her business education and extensive customer service experience – along with some hard earned horse sense – to the operation of Lakeview Guest Ranch.

Eckhard - A jack-of-all-trades, Eckhard has worked as a welder, mechanic, auto body repairman and restaurant owner. He shares Diana's deep love of animals and the outdoors, and together they packed up their belongings and moved in February 1999 from their native Germany to Alberta – a land of endless opportunities. Since purchasing the property in March of 1999, the two have worked hard to improve the facilities at Lakeview Guest Ranch, began a cattle ranching operation, and have had the opportunity to share their experience with many different people from all around the world.
